How to add columns to folder and all sub-folders?

Hi,

We are implementing GWAVA Retain and would like for user folders to show the column "RetainArchived", all user folders (sub-folders included). The problem is I haven't been able to find any manner to accomplish this that does not entail editing every single folder? Any ideas how to accomplish this from a central Admin Workstation?
