Maximum Size attachment

Dear All,

Have a problem with incoming attachments.
The attachments are smaller then the maximum size I have setup, but still the (IOS) devices will not open them.
In the data synchroniser admin, I have set the maximum size to 3096, but somehow the devices keep complaining.

Please see attachment and help me do the math ...
