unable to authenticate in consoleone

i've installed sled, and have installed consoleone [and snapins/plugins] via the groupwise installer, in order to perform groupwise management, and am having trouble authenticating to nds. i select the nds icon within "my world", and then choose file -> authenticate. in the subsequent novell login window, i provide login name, password, tree, and context, and then click login. after a delay of approx 60 seconds, an error appears which says "(error -626) the object could not be found. it is possible that the object exists, but the server could not communicate with the server holding a copy of the object.". how can i figure out what i'm doing wrong?
