Backing Up and Restoring Vibe Data

For the past few weeks I've been testing Vibe and I've been slowly coming around about its usefulness for my organization. I'm at the point that I think that I could deploy it in production, but I have a question regarding backup and restoration.

Sooner or later someone is going to delete something that they are going to want back, whether its a file, version of a file, or anything else that Vibe can do. How would you back up and restore individual items in Vibe? Since it is more database driven than file/folder I'm trying to figure this out well be before I have to figure it out. I'm using Sesam as my backup solution. Thanks!

Group as Bcc

Hi,

If I create a group of people I always send mail to. They all default as to: for example to:bob@golf.com.

If I want to use this group as a BCC instead then I have to go into the group and change them all to BCC. Is there a way I could just have a group that are BCC when I put them in the mail and CC when I put them in the mail CC?

DB Server High Utilization 11.4.2

Hello All,

I have upgraded multiple clients to 11.4.1 and 11.4.2 recently and have run across this issue. https://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7017335 .
It says that 11.4.2 resolves the issue, but it doesn't. Is there a way to remove the System Update Entitlement all together? I have tried to clear out the information, but am unable to do so since it requires an email address and activation code. We do not use the automatic downloads for updates and import all updates manually. Thanks for the help.

How do I prevent limited users from doing this?

We have requirement to enable managers in our organization to request some specific resource for their subordinates(directReports) from within UserApplication Home. Is it possible? and can we achieve this without actually
defining teams? (creating team manually would not scale) since we have lot of managers at many levels and in differet departments.

How can we easily achieve this goal?, any suggstions or tips would be appreciated.

ZMM and Active Sync

$

Hello,

We have a customer which is showing interest in ZMM. Unfortunately my expierence is limited / old. I have two questions; 1) any idea when the 2017 Version will be released? 2) Can ZMM synchronize PIM / E-Mail data without a seperate ActiveSync Server. My understanding is that it cannot and that it needs an ActiveSync server that gets the PIM/E-Mail data from the enterperises email system and the ZMM works as an MDM server only. Is that correct?

Thank you for your assistance and help.

Windows 7 Clients stuck in DHCP request loop

$

This issue has come to light over the last week or so and for the life of me I have no idea what is causing it.

A few windows seven machines (definitely new PCs bought and added to the network) have started failing to get/renew DHCP address on reboot, after logging in locally you see the network icon trying to determine an address and failing. In the dhcp log on the server it looks like the windows 7 PCs in question are continuously requesting and address and successfully being assigned it, maybe 10-20 times per second.

Extract from the log:

DHCP is running on Suse Linux OES 11 SP2, it was migrated across from Netware about 12 months ago and seemed to be running fine until recently, no changes have been made.

Disable Caching of Disabled Actions in A Bundle

I was looking at this post: https://forums.novell.com/showthread...ed-Still-Cache

In that post, a member mentions:

Quote:

Yes, I believe it still caches by design.
However, it is possible to configure the master bundle so that only bundles needing to install will cache.

How can I disable caching of disabled actions? I'm troubleshooting a bundle with a bunch of "Install bundle" actions and I'd like to shorten the download time on the master bundle. I've tried to look at documentation and I've tried to do Google searches but to no avail. I am on Zenworks 11 SP3.

Thank you for your time!

iPrint Appliance Issue with Chromebook printing from Apps Domain accounts

I'm have installed a trial iPrint 2.1 appliance and am having troubles with Chromebook printing.

I've installed the extensions and when I use my personal account printing works fine. However if I try and use and account in your Google Apps domain I get the error in the following screenshot

Screenshot 2016-08-04 at 11.01.26.png

Now this is when connected to the same wifi network using the same credentials so no network ACLs are different, the only difference is the user signed in to the chromebook. I have even created a new Google Apps for Education domain so that any domain or chrome policies were their defaults and this still occurs. I have also tried different Chromebooks, some connected to the management domain and some not, the result is the same.

There is unfortunately very little documentation for the Chromebook printing but I am hoping someone else has tried to use this and found the same issue and hopefully a solution. If someone could give me some guides hon how to start troubleshooting this it would also be appreciated, the extension appears to be a black box with no debug options I can see.

WinPE maintenance Mode no longer works after May img update

$

Hi,

I applied the May imaging update to our ZCM 11.3.2 server to support some new NIC hardware.

However amongst the many issues I have had with this update (a previous NIC that worked no longer does) I have just discovered that our WinPE Maintenance Mode that I launch from the imaging menu no longer works, after I select it I get the message:

Using configuration file: winpe64.cfg
PXENV_RESTART_TFTP failed 0x1 0x1

I have used this countless times just before the imaging update - have rebooted the server but unsure to why this is happening from the update.
Does it want WAIK re-installed, don't know why it would?

Any ideas appreciated.

MIGGUI is appending "SH_" to volume names on migration jobs

$

I'm trying to do a file migration from OES2 to OES2015 SP1. Using MIGGUI on the new server. The migration of data fails immediately with path not found errors.

In the MIGGUI log files, I can see the obvious problem but I don't know why it's doing this. All Volumes have "SH_" appended to them. For example, on the DATA volume, it's trying to migrate from /media/nss/SH_DATA/ which is clearly wrong.

Where is this coming from? I have done tons of migrations and never seen this behavior before. Attached.

Thanks.

My apologies if this has been answered elsewhere.

I'm upgrading my GW back-end from 14.0.2 to 14.2.1. Will the 14.2.1 client run against a PO that is still 14.0.2? Or do I need to wait until the PO is 14.2.1?

Webaccess 2014 R2 and MS Browsers

Hi,

our Webaccess was changed from GW2012 to GW2014R2SP1 (new server, SLES12.1) one week ago.
In firefox and chrome the "Auto-Refresh" works fine but in Internet Explorer 11 and EDGE it doesn't.

Does somebody know a solution/setting for the Internet Explorer users ? Adding URL to trusted sites didn't help.

Thank you and regards
Matthias
