Since some time ago (without remembering ever changing anything my imaging stopped working .. )
- first errors received were like 'no bootfile received' - so started to search on that ... nothing conclusive
then with some more testing i ended up specifying my tftp server and 'bootfile' in my scope ... now it finds my imaging server again, just ... it gets imeouts on retrieval
the setup :
-a SLES10spX based server used for dhcp (so no setting of option 60 )
-a separate ZEN7 server that has tftp/proxydhcp ( you know the works for imaging) also based on SLES10spX
- The ZEN box has 2 NIC's , and in my personal setup 1 is lan, 1 is WAN - tried switching them for testing sake, but didnt change anything
- lan is 1 subnet, so shouldnt have any issues with ip-helpers or stuff
- tested from a clientbox, and was able to tftp to server and retrieve like the /boot/settings.txt file over tftp ( so seems ok uh ?)
My questions are :
- i've never had to specify the TFTPserver and bootfile in dhcp, and it still worked so what would in a normal situation/setup as mine inject the info ... is it the proxy-dhcp service ?
- in current scenario the timeouts ... i only get em on clients that do 'real PXE boot' ... so what's causing them ?
