Please excuse my lack of knowledge here, but I'm still new to much of this and don't have much in the way of formal training. Basically, I've inherited the following setup:
(All are NW6.5SP5 eDir. v.10552.79 unless stated otherwise)
A server which houses my primary Groupwise 7.0.2 domain and mta (this also houses the master replica)
A second server with a secondary domain/mta plus the GWIA, WebAccess, and Document Viewer Agents
A third server containing just the post office for the primary domain
Before attempting to patch to Groupwise 7.0.3 and then upgrade to Groupwise 8, I'd like to update each of these servers to NW6.5SP8 w/ eDir 8.7.3.10b.
Questions:
Is there any particular order I should do it?
Do the same precautions for updating Groupwise (backup your domain, do the primary domain first, etc.) apply here?
Is it just a matter of downing Groupwise gracefully and installing SP8 from nwconfig and if so how long should I wait between each update?
I'd appreciate any and all help, if it's not too much trouble. I'm familiar with doing health checks and I've already updated 2 R/W replicas and 3 other file servers, but I'm taking extra precaution with the email system.
