Order of PATH items (host and virtual application PATHS)

Still using ZAV 7 ... if a subsequent version addresses my problem, please let me know.

It seems that my virtualized applications look for things in the following order:
* the "working directory" specified in the process configuration settings
* the PATH items specified by the host computer
* the PATH items specified by in the virtual application

Instead of grabbing whatever files within the virtual environment, our virtual application is grabbing files (DLL's) from the host environment if they are found there first. It just so happens that the files in the host environment are not compatible with our application, causing our application to crash. The solution, I think is to tell the virtual environment to look at the virtual application's path first; if not found, then look on the host for required files.

Is there a way to do this easily?

Thanks in advance, cheers and best regards!
