GMS 2.0: Test Notifications

Hi,
On the GMS 2.0 Config/General screen, there are fields to enable notifications and configure the SMTP server and relevant parameters.

Is there a way to test the notifications to ensure these settings work? Really don't want to wait until a critical event occurs only to realize email notifications are not routing correctly.
