eDirectory namie attributes changes sync to GW unwanted

Hi there,
We let our IDM HR JDBC driver be authoritative for GivenName, Surname, Initials. In our test lab we noted that when changing the GN or Surname of a user that it will change the GroupWise email address and if Full Name changes then the GroupWise address book lookup will change too. We are not using a GW Driver, these are just "natural" eDirectory outcomes.

Is there a setting to globally disable this kind of synchronization to GW?
Any advice welcomed.
