SLES/OES11 GUI login fails - console login OK

Hi,

I can login fine from the console, BUT if I use the GUI it just jumps back to the login window
This is after a crash on my virtual OES11 server (VMware stopped responding and crashed)
Had to reboot the server.
Did an upgrade of files and after this no login via GUI only console

Where to troubleshoot? How?
