abend & Windows 7

We have Netware 6.5 SP8. Yesterday the server had an abend and I had reboot. After the server reboot, several of our Windows 7 users reported that after they shutdown and restarted, their Windows 7 came back up in "Workstation Only" mode instead of the normal "Novell Login" screen. The Windows 7 users have the newest version of the client - "Novell Client 2 SP3 for Windows 7".

How could a server abend cause their Windows 7 setting to change to the workstation only login screen?
