I have a very strange problem: When trying to update our OES2/SLES10 servers (all Proliant DL580 G7) with the latest HP support pack (SPP 2013-02B), the installation is really slow, and hangs eventually. I've tried to locate the problem, and so far the only thing I've found is that the update works when I disable the novell-nss service (and dependent services: novell-cifs, ncp2nss and novell-idsd) in runlevel 2, and then boot the server in runlevel 2.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone have a clue why the SPP won't install with NSS active? Is there a better workaround available? (I tried stopping nss but that doesn't work).
