GW2012 to replace a GW6.0-System - How to download Mails

Hi,

at time download from the provider is done by the pop-forwarding-agent, what works - well - great since a decade.

From looking through some forum-posts and documentation there is nothing similar coming with Groupwise 2012 in NOWS,

What way - which has to be supported by our provider - would be the best to download mail in the future?
