Quick Filr Question

I see in the documentation filr can work with netware 6.5.8, however it needs e-dir 8.8... Does this mean any server that holds home folders needs to be on edir 8.8 or just one server that filr uses to gain access to edir needs to be at 8.8... ??
bottom line - do i need to update all netware 6.5.8 servers with home directories to edir 8.8
