Persistent Preferences on Plugin Login

We've been testing Kanaka for a few months now, and everything seems to be working great. Our users can login using the plugin, and it mounts all their network shares, including their novell home directory as their home directory in OS X.

However, I've run into a problem where user-specific preferences are not persistent across logins.

Preferences such as the Finder settings, Dock settings, default browser, and desktop background seem to reset themselves every time a user logs out and logs back into a machine.

I've tracked these settings down to files in the Library/Preferences folder in the user's home directory, which is their regular novell network home directory. If those preferences are stored on the network share, they should theoretically be persistent across logins and between different machines.

The only thing I can think of is that Kanaka overwrites certain preference files on the network share during login.

Thoughts?
