can gw12 and gw7 clienst both exist on same workstation

I've got two servers running different gw versions. Ver 6.x and 2012. One workstation needs to access both. Is there a switch in client install for gw2012 client that will not overwrite the old client version. I tried changing the gw12 client install subdir but after copying files to a different subdir the install program still deleted the older gw client program.
