Windows 7 + Novell Client 2 SP3 Slow login after reboot

Hi,

I have a fresh installation of Windows 7 32Bit SP1 with no Windows updates to troubleshoot this issue (same issue with all updates on). I install the Novell Client 2 SP3 and configure it using LDAP contextless and a few other minor changes. DHCP delivers SLP. When the PC is first turned on, no matter how long it sits at the Windows 7 novell login screen it always takes between 10-14 seconds to login to Novell, no matter which username I use, as I have no ZCM installed (to keep troubleshooting to a minimum) I then login manually to Windows using a local Windows account. All drives are there and accessible, no other issues. If I log out of Windows back to the login screen and log back in to Novell either as the same user or a different user the login takes approximately 1.4 - 2.0 seconds and then I continue to login to Windows with a local account. This can be repeated with the same results 1.6 - 2.0 seconds. What I do not understand is why after either turning the PC on or a restart does the login take up to 14 seconds? I thought maybe there was a service that was waiting to be started once the login process was initiated but I have compared services and they are the same. If I login to Windows only and click on the 'N' within the task bar and 'login' I get the same response, between 10-14 seconds. I have also at this point, while within Windows, disconnected from the relevant tree and servers and attempted a login again and it takes under 2 seconds.

Has anybody got any ideas/solutions to this issue? Has anybody experienced this? I know it is only around 10-12 seconds slower but when you put ZCM on the 10-12 seconds makes all the difference between a fast logon and a slow one.

Thanks for any help.
