Clearing img safe data not enough anymore to trigger imaging

We used to image machines by clearing the image safe data (zisedit -r) in maintenance, then reboot and pxe would start imaging the pc again as if it was a new pc.
When we do that with Zen11.2 it will fail until we delete the pc from the device list.

I know the official way is to just set the device to imaging from the web interface but I find it odd that it stopped working.
I am guessing it does a query based on the actual hardware information now instead of the image safe data ?
