What is Multi-User.MultiUser Control?

We are upgrading to GW 2012 and people who use the Multi-User view are getting something called "Multi-User.MultiUser Control" under their calendar. Those who don't use the Multi-User view aren't getting it. What is it and can it be safely deleted?
